What can you do with a squash blossom?

What can you do with a squash blossom?

Squash blossoms have a mild flavor similar to zucchini or summer squash, and can be used in a variety of ways and recipes.

To prepare: Carefully separate the flower petals without breaking them and remove the pistil in the center.

Stuffed: Blossoms may be stuffed with cheese (mozzarella, cheddar, ricotta, goat etc), dipped in egg wash and flour (or breadcrumbs or cornmeal) or pancake batter pan fried in hot oil or deep-fried. They may also be stuffed and roasted (without a coating) drizzled with olive oil (400 degree for about 10 minutes)

Pasta Risotto, Rice Dishes: chop or chiffonade and garnish your favorite recipe

Quesadilla: chop and add along with other ingredients between tortillas

Omelets and Frittatas: chop and add along with other ingredients or add as a garnish
